Nothing New Under the Sun

Though I wonder if 1st century strings would stand up to the strain...

Seriously, repetition is an important part of almost all music, but I found portions of this piece to be almost boringly repetitive. Of course, that's merely my taste, not merit/value, and these guys certainly are talented. They may even be bowing faster than the typical rendition of the final movement of 3rd Brandenburg, in which the eighth notes run at about 500/minute, faster in some versions.

 

It's not just music, it's theatre also. I like it.

If I'm not mistaken, these two young Russian men were featured on Americas Got Talent... What was interesting is they gave all the credit to their Grandfather who is also an accomplished Classical Cellist from Russia. They kind of followed in Grandpas footsteps and Grandpa approved and no doubt it they could really get down with the composers... I like it too!... Brother Glen
