“Killing Jews is Worship that draws us close to Allah,” reads one such ad next to the image of a young man in a checkered headscarf. “That’s His Jihad. What’s yours?”

The poster is at the center of heated legal debate over public safety and free speech. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge John Koeltl ruled that New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) cannot stop the controversial ad from running on scores of subway cars and buses.

Yep, I was going to post that but you beat me to it. Kind of a far right, pro-Israel group.

Seems to me the message was *supposed* to subconsciously make people associate the picture with killing and death; and encourage people to choose a different path.

But if you have to think about it that hard to come to that conclusion....

It doesn't communicate well. Would recommend the pro-Israel group pull those ads and try again.

What if the KKK or the NAACP wants to put out an ad encouraging the killing of blacks? Would that be OK?

Or if a radical Christian group put out one encouraging the killing of muslims? Would that be OK?

Does it really matter who puts it out when it encourages murder?

Look at the thread title. In that context it matter because the people putting out the ads are not "against Jews".

Like Don said, it's supposed to be thought provoking. Too bad the thought it provokes is "what's going on?"

Encouraging killing or violence is still a violation of first amendment rights, no matter who does it.

Carpro - I honestly don't think a pro-Israel group intended "what will your jihad be?" to be a message encouraging killing; I honestly would like to believe that they were trying to say, "what will you crusade for?" I honestly want to believe that this pro-Israel group was hoping for a message that would shame potential anti-Israel muslim jihadists.

By the way the title can be taken a couple of ways. It could mean the pro Israel group is against Israel or the judge sided against Israel. People read what they want too.

Well, you see, it doesn't really matter what their intent was. The message is what matters and it will be taken literally by thousands of people, who either don't read the fine print or don't have time as the bus flashes by.

Muslims are killers. that's the message.

I'm wondering where all the lefties are here that are always so worried about sending out a message that all people, particular muslims, are not to be classified as killers just because a bunch of them are.
