Obama actually did something right

After watching the news yesterday, I found out that Obama has gone against the ACLU on releasing the waterboarding photos. I was beginning to wonder if he was actually going to endager the lives of our servicemen or risk having another terrorist attack here.

I still have doubts as to why he made this decision. Was it to protect Nancy Pelosi from having 5 different stories on whether or not she was briefed about waterboarding? Was this decision made to get people to like him more? Does he actually care about the lives of Americans?

I will give him credit for making the right choice on this situation for now. I hope & pray he will continue to do the right thing from here on out.

This is all show. The President cannot stop the pics from being released. They will be released. Obama was for releasing them and conveniently now he is not. This makes him look like he tried to stop it and he will get no blame when things go bad. These pics fall under the "Freedom of information Act"

I know. I was surprised that he actually said something though. I know there is another reason behind it; Possibly another motive. I hope I'm wrong about that.

To say the least I am very skeptical about it.

I think President Obama did the right thing. However it is almost common sense. Is there really any reason to throw gas on this fire? Everyone knows that some of the things done at those locations was not acceptable. By releasing those photos all they were going to do is inflame anger in the Islamic world. That would put American soldiers and civilians in those areas in unnecessary danger. In my experience, people in the ACLU are generally not concerned with people's safety (etc). They are only concerned with pushing a political agenda that strips our government of any power to fight terrorists and punish criminals. If they ACLU had their way, our country would be an anarchist nation.

Surely you don't really think this is an issue, do you? These rabid yokels are just looking for an excuse for "jihad", and if this ain't it, they'll find something else.

Think cartoons, books, etc.!

I agree that these photos should never be released, but not for the reasons of "inciting muslim riots"!

Jameel Jaffer, (muslim???) is a chief litigator for the American Civil Liberties Union National Security Project. Of course he wants them released to inflame the islamic world. And they would. It was reported that violence against our troop went up something like 200% one week after the release of the Abu Ghairab pics.

Edited to add: A google search on Jameel Jaffer shows he has represented MANY muslim cases against the government. So that speaks volumes to me.
