Obama doubles down on idiocy...

Apparently Obama doesn't learn from his mistakes.

It wasn't enough that he alienated small business owners with his infamous "you didn't build that" claim....

Obama is doubling down trying desperately hard to find some successful business that he can take credit for.

Obama by twitter: "If you or someone you know owns a small business, share how President Obama’s policies are helping it succeed: "

http://twitter.com/BarackObama/statuses/232147916167446528

"You didn't build that."

Now that's something the Obama needs to remind us over and over until November.

It's going to be an interesting August, September and October because "the one" is so out of touch with reality that he is just going to continue to demand that everyone fawn over him as the "messiah".

Should I say: He has the gift!

"You didn't build that" in context:

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together."

Mr. Obama is exactly right. The government plays a large role in keeping order in society, in maintaining infrastructure, and in providing a certain level of social support in some cases. Can you imagine running a business without the government providing a functional court system? There would be no mechanism for enforcement of contracts. I know the company I work for wouldn't make it without these evil socialist roads.

It's a shame that instead of having a productive discussion about the social contract, the Right twists Mr. Obama's words as part of a political agenda.

There is no context in which "You didn't build that" can be made to look true or acceptable. None. And everyone has seen it in its full context. You have brought nothing new to the discussion except Obama's false mantra.

I've got news for you. All countries have roads--capitalistic, communistic, socialistic, fascist. Most countries have court systems. This idea that countries build roads and have court systems to enable the success of entrepreneurs is ludicrous.

Seems liberals are the same whether politics OR the bible!!

They have told us for so long and in so many instances that God really meant "---" when He said "xxxxx", that now (since the zero is god) he really didn't mean "---" just because he said "XXXX".:smilewinkgrin::smilewinkgrin::smilewinkgrin::smilewinkgrin:

Spin away. That's not what he said.

"If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. "

What a collosally stupid remark! The really sad part is that he actually believes it. He thinks that, because he's been soaking the taxpayers his entire life, anybody else that succeeds in business has to have government help too.

You need to look at things from the positive side. Just think how Obama has helped the small businesses that sell guns for a living.

Who can say they "did it all by themselves"?

What about the techers we had?
What about the bankers who helped us?
What about family members who helped us?
What about Sunday School teachers who helped us?

Sure, every successful business had help from someone. No person built a successful business all by themselves. All had help of some kind or another.

Take Obama's words in the context they were spoken and place them in Romney's mouth and those who are so negative on this thread would be singing the praises of Mitt's wisdom.

What about the techers we had?

They are in it to provide children and young adults with a broad, general education, not to help us start a business.

What about the bankers who helped us?

They are in it for the money.

What about family members who helped us?

They are in it for love and would help us with most anything, not specifically starting a business.

What about Sunday School teachers who helped us?

They are in it for love and to help us learn about God, not start a business.

General help in the areas of education and other areas, yes. Specific help in starting a business? Not really.
