Check it out, he got it from a cartoon:

From a comment on Free Republic:
It's almost worse than childish.
What we have here is a candidate for the presidency - a man who is just a few paltry electoral college votes away from having his finger on "The Button" - who can't even come up with original material on the stump and has to plagiarize second-rate [frankly rather awful] editorial cartoonists.
Obama is in so far over his head that it's scary. And if the mainstream media can swing a state like Ohio or Florida or Virginia, then this moron would be your next Commander in Chief.

I couldnt find anything about plagerism from the link. But since the link says Obama smeared palin with the ridiculous lip stick event I question its credibility.

Here's the excerpt from his speech:

"John McCain says hes about change too, and so I guess his whole angle is Watch out George Bush -- except for economic policy, health-care policy, tax policy, education, policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove style politics -- were really going to shake things up in Washington,'" Obama said today at a town hall in Lebanon, VA."

Word for word, verbatim from the cartoon at the above link.

That's plagiarism? I don't get it, who said it first?

Also, it's a fairly accurate statement. McCain plans read as typical conservative plans which is about what Bush had. It's easy to say less government but what parts do you cut. This is one reason I want to hear him speak to them. I want him to identity the changes...

If Obama has to get his speeches from cartoons, he's even more inexperienced than I thought...

There is nothing about this election that is funny!

Guess Barry has learned something from Joe Biden ... but stealing lines for a political cartoon and not giving credit to the cartoonist ... Barry and David Axelrod are not ready for this stage ... I have never consider Obama the smartest of people, but he should know better than this ...

Well, I always thought plagiarism was against the law, for one. Maybe it isn't when you are running for president and playing to the masses with a silken tongue.

And the cartoonist wrote the lines first on Sept 5, Obama borrowed them and didn't give credit. One would hope one running for POTUS would be a little more original than copying lines from a cartoon. But when one is an empty suit, what can we expect?

In the large scheme of things what does this really matter?

Agreed, more one sided nit picking.

If they best folks can come up with not to vote for Obama is that he plagarised a speech, come talk to me - I can give you plenty of real reasons not to vote for him.

If I'm not mistaken, did not Joe Biden's presidential campaign in 1988 blow up after it was exposed that he had plagiarized parts of a Neil Kinnock (a British politician) speech.

So failing to credit the original penner of the words, can have consequences. But with the MSM, Obama will never be held to account. Must be left to bloggers and bulletin boards.

I do think these faux pauxs need to be noted, BUT for Pete's sake let's not make a major campaign issue about them. Use them to show a pattern, if applicable, but don't use a rifle to kill a hornet!! There's bigger game out there and if you use up the ammo on small stuff there won't be any for the larger stuff later.

Well, Palin said he mention of God and the war was a quote from Abe Lincoln. So is she guilty also?
