Obama's Budget a Joke: British Pub Slams 'Bad Math, Phantom Revenues, Imaginary Spend

The president’s howler of a spending plan was slammed — not by the rabid, right-wing conservative press, which is presumably out to get our charmer-in-chief no matter what he does — but by the British Daily Mail. Here’s the bullet points:

White House promises $1.8 trillion in deficit reduction, although similar previous claims have been debunked
New method of measuring cost-of-living increases will lower benefit payouts and push middle-class earners into higher tax brackets
Speaker Boehner’s spokesperson: ‘Any deficit reduction will come exclusively from tax hikes’
Administration’s formula depends on cost savings from Obamacare, which may be more costly to implement than previously thought

In a lengthy piece, the foreign publication explains that while the White House is claiming $4.3 trillion in budget cuts over the decade, trillions of those cuts don’t appear to be real. For example, the White House has already claimed $2.5 trillion in spending cuts the last two years, but because of the way some of those cuts were imagined, only $1.4 trillion over the decade was actually cut. The kicker? That number doesn’t actually cut overall government spending, it just slows the rate of spending increases.

Just one more instance that shows that the salivating left are the only ones that keep kissing the north end of this south-bound jack@ss we call "POTUS"!

Do these people not realize that this is unsustainable?
Dems and Repubs both are guilty. Why is it so hard to understand that we must have a balanced budget? Even if they were all to get it though, we are to far past the point of no return I fear.

There is no doubt that spending has been on both side. But the difference is in the agenda. The Dems want nothing more that to keep raising taxes on the rich. They believe there is only so much pie to go around and the rich have far to much of it. So they want to use the force of government to remove it from them. It is immoral and unethical.

And the neocons are better? Both sides (generalization there) do nothing but tax and spend. Both need to be rejected in favor of small government designed to ensure individual liberty and safety... you know... what the founders wanted.

We do need smaller government. As I said it has been heavy on both sides. But it is heavier on the left and the agenda is about wealth redistribution. That is immoral.
