OBEDIENCE. PART - 2
OBEDIENCE OF FAITH.
Romans 16.26
26."but is now disclosed and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the Gentiles, according to the Command of the eternal GOD, to bring about the OBEDIENCE OF FAITH,..."
And this passage even better. We discussed before WORKS OF FAITH, and as have been written about, Faith without Works is dead, which means that Faith and Works are inseparable. But according to Romans 16.26, FAITH also must have OBEDIENCE as its indivisible element, in order to be complete.
So, it means that FAITH without OBEDIENCE to GOD'S Statutes and Commandments, even if its has it's Works, is not really whole, and lacking important component of OBEDIENCE, and because of it also can be considered dead.
I also heard many debates about how to glorify GOD. Some people referred to song and music, some to prayers, some to many other things, but none of them mentioned OBEDIENCE to GOD'S Words and His Commandments.
2Corinthians 9.13
13."Through the testing of this ministry you glorify GOD by your OBEDIENCE to the confession of the Gospel of Christ, and by the generosity of your sharing with them and with all others,..."
And of course some of you will ask, "How OBEDIENCE relate to Salvation?" Because many of you think only about it and "worship" GOD only for His salvation and nothing else. The answer provided in Hebrews 5.9.
Hebrews 5.9
9."and having been made perfect He became the Source of Eternal Salvation for all who OBEY Him,..."
1John 2.3-5
3."Now, by this we may be sure that we know Him if we OBEY His Commandments.
4.Whoever says, ‘I have come to know Him,’ but does NOT OBEY His Commandments is a liar and in such person the truth does not exist,
5.but whoever OBYES His Word, truly in this person the LOVE of GOD has reached perfection. By this we may be sure that we are in Him,..."
The verse 5 shows excellent example of how a human being can reach perfection in Love of GOD, by OBEYING the Commandments of the Lord. So in this sense OBEDIENCE is the indispensable and crucial part of Love.
Whoever Loves GOD - OBEYS Him, and whoever OBEYS GOD - LOVES Him.
1John 5.2-3
2."By this we know that we Love the children of GOD when we Love GOD and OBEY His Commandments.
3.The LOVE of GOD is this that we OBEY His Commandments. And His Commandments are not burdensome,..."
