I didn't know he was a Vol fan.

Michigan may have something more to play for now that Bo Schembechler is dead. But I still say OSU 24, Michigan 20.

By the way, good luck UK on getting into a bowl. It gets dicier for you if the SEC doesn't place two into the BCS, and it looks like that isn't going to happen.

We will end up 8-4 or 7-5 at the worst and get in a decent bowl.

I had been favoring Michigan for weeks in this game, and with today I am at least as certain. Schembechler was a coaching 'icon' at Michigan, and the current players heard him speak, even last night. He has a way with that, and who knows but what he got so worked up in that that is contributed to his passing today. So the players knew and respected him, but still he wasn't their regular coach, terrorizing them out on the practice field; therefore it's not such a heart-wrenching loss, like losing your own disciplinarian father, but his words suddenly take twice their already-heavy impact. Still, of course, you can never really predict human emotion. But it's inevitable (IMO) that the Michigan team will be affected one way or another, and I think the probability is heavily on the positive (for them) side.

Well, I am, and I am not looking forward to playing UK while several Vols are still healing.

Don't light that victory cigar just yet, UK fans.....

As for the UM/OSU game, I don't really have a horse in this race, so I would really like to see a close, hard-fought and down-to-the-wire game.

    Regards to both of you,
    BiR

If I would have only added 22 to each score...

So who do y'all think should be number 2?

    USC.

I don't think a team that fails to win its conference should have a shot at the BCS title game.

As of tonight I think that Southern Cal will be in the BCS championship game if they win out. Otherwise, I think that Michigan will get a second chance at Ohio State.

If Southern Cal loses to Notre Dame or UCLA I just don't think that Arkansas or Florida or Notre Dame will finish ahead of Michigan in the BCS poll. I think that too many of the voters think that Michigan is truly the second best team in the nation for the final BCS poll to end up otherwise if Southern Cal loses.

And maybe Michigan is the second best team in the nation but if the regular season games are not going to lose some of their luster then someone other than Michigan needs to be in the BCS championship game.

I wouldn't have thought it before the game, but I would favour a rematch for the national title now.

A team that almost beat Kentucky :)

Bad news, UK fans. Cincinnati became bowl eligible, Auburn beat Bama, and South Carolina became bowl eligible. The way the bowls could shake down, you all may be the ninth team out in the SEC (Only 8 bowl slots). Cincinnati may take one of the "at-large" or unfilled slots from another conference. I'm not saying it's fair, but it is what it is with the way SC travels and Auburn will likely take an upper tier bowl away from one of the East schools, so the prognosticators say. I looked at four different bwol projections. Only one had UK going to a bowl. Stay tuned.
