    5-year-old Edith Fuller representing 'Tulsa Bible Church Home Educators Fellowship' defeated local runners-up Salma Waheed and Saisurya Lakkimsetti by spelling words such as minaret (a mosque's prayer tower) and jnana (Hindu spiritual knowledge). That's gotta hurt.

    Homeschooled youngsters have done well at the National Spelling Bee. The first one to win was Rebecca Sealfon in 1997:
