Omaha Metro Prayer for October 3, 2008

Pray for our Jewish friends as they observe Yom Kippur beginning Oct. 8
through the 9th. Yom Kippur is a day of confession, repentance, and prayers
for forgiveness of sin.

May the Lord shed revelation knowledge of the “once
for all” sacrifice of Jesus and His saving grace!


Romans 1:16 I am not
ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of
everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

Pray that many of them have their eyes opened and find salvation in YESHUA aka JESUS



It was recently reported that 90% of nursing homes are guilty of neglect or
substandard care. For-profit nursing care facilities were found to be the
worst.

One in five residents were in immediate harm. To complicate matters,
there is a huge turnover of staff in these facilities due to low wages.
Please pray for the residents of the nursing homes in the Metro area that
they would receive excellent care and that the Lord, himself, would guard
and protect each person.



Psalm 121:7 The LORD will keep you from all harm he
will watch over your life;

Psalm 121:8 the LORD will watch over your coming and
going both now and forevermore.



After a relatively quiet summer, violence in the Metro area has sharply
escalated. There were 6 murders in one week alone. There is speculation that gang wars are responsible for the rash of recent killings.

City officials are very concerned and are looking for solutions. Ask the Lord for his solutions to the gang problems.



Also ask that the Lord would break the
cycles of hate and hopelessness.

Psalm 33:22 May your unfailing love rest
upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
