Husband and Anderson were both Christians. They attended Grace Community Church. Husband was in the Choir and led a men's prayer group. More information is available in the prayer requests forum.

Who cares what denomination he was? He was a Christian. What does it matter what denomination he was? Is he less saved? Was his sacrificial bravery any less if had he been a Methodist??

 

This reminds me of a joke I heard when I was about 20 years old, told to me by a friend who had attended a Baptist Bible college: A tour guide was taking a new arrival through the halls of heaven, passing the different rooms that people who had belonged to the different denominations were congregating in. When passing the Baptist room, the tour guide said "shhh, be quiet, the baptists think they are the only ones up here" That methodist remark, makes me think that maybe that joke had some truth to it.

It also reminds me of all the bad things I heard about one of my favorite actresses Natalie Wood when she died. There always has to be someone who has to speak ill of the dead. It's shameful, and makes my heart sick to read comments like that.

 

I would pray that each one of the seven might have known our Lord Jesus Christ, and I pray for their families and loved ones in this time of great tragedy and loss. I leave their eternal judgement in the Master's hands.

On another Christian BB, a dear Sister in Christ has a brother who works at NASA, and she sorrows that he rejects Christ and places his faith in science and space aliens,(the unending search for extraterrestrial life).

May we pray for those who are lost, for not one of us can have any assurance of even one more breath, or one more sunrise. Those who hear the Word of God, and the Gospel proclaimed from the pulpit, are more likely to follow Christ Jesus our Lord.

May God comfort His children, and draw the lost to the glorious redemption at the foot of Calvary.

The title of this thread title is incorrect. At least two of the shuttle astronauts were Christians, according to the article.

Lookie, we're up to three.

See? We're told not to judge a person's salvation and we came to the conclusion that there was only one. But look, there were at least three. This is why we're not supposed to make determinations about peoples' salvation. It gets us in trouble.

 

It turns out that all of them were active members of Christian congregations, with the exception of Kalpana Chawla, who was Hindi.

Next time, let's not jump to conclusions. It's not edifying.
