One Night with the King

As I got home from work my wife said we were going out to see a movie.
Curiosity struck, “What movie?”
“One Night With the King” she replied, “My parents went and they said the costumes are fantastic”.
I’d not heard about the movie, it sounded like a “chick flick”. :love2:
I thought I’d probably fall asleep during the first scene. :sleeping_2:

The movie, it turns out is about the story of Esther.
It follows the biblical plot well, filling in portions as any dramatization will do.

We see the powerful king Xerxes struggling with the intense court politics and how Queen Vashti becomes disgraced and is discarded.
And we observe court dignitary Mardocai and his charge, Esther, as they make their way into the palace, and how Esther eventually finds her way into the kings heart.

Ultimately the story leads us into an understanding of the Jewish holiday of Purim, which commemorates the deliverance of Persian Jews from Haman’s plot to exterminate the them.

Adults and teens will like it.

And yes …the costumes are fantastic.

Sum up: I loved it. Saw it twice, so I could support it more.

 

I am not a big movie watcher but this one is a must see!!!

 

Any news on when this will come out on DVD?
