    When I hear the phrase, at the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, on the eleventh month, I always think of the Grandfather who was drafted at age 30, when he was married, and had 5 children. His leg was damaged during the trip to Canada for the convoy "over there." Later, he was gassed while guarding a machine gun nest, and finally concussed by an overhead artillery shell exploding in a tree above him. But when he recovered consciousness, he picked up his rifle and continued the assault a few days or weeks before the end of WWI.

    To all who served, thank you for continuing to protect "the last best hope for mankind...."
