Openly Gay Man Elected Episcopal Bishop in New Hampshire

(Concord, New Hampshire-AP) -- New Hampshire Episcopalians
have elected an openly gay man as their next bishop.
After his election Saturday, The Reverend V. Gene Robinson
told his supporters to be gentle with those who disagreed with
their decision, saying "We will show the world how to be a
Christian community." He says he plans to be a "good" bishop not
a "gay" bishop.
Robinson's selection is is still subject to confirmation
next month by the church's national General Convention.
One strong opponent is the Reverend David Moyer, president
of Forward in Faith, an association of Anglicans against the
ordination of women. He called the gay bishop's election an open
rebellion against God's created order and the teachings of the
church.
