Opinion: Why is California Burning?

I live in a newly built California neighborhood. We have no unsightly above ground power lines, and we never get blackouts.

1. Much of the area, especially south, is a desert. It is very dry, much of the year. They also have a natural season of very high, dry winds.
2. Environmental beliefs resulted ending land management efforts that used controlled burns, clearing underbrush, and they are allowing rain water to flow into the Pacific during the wet season, instead of storing it for the dry, fire season.
3. About 40 million people live in California, straining resources, confining large populations into relatively small areas.
