I believe that the following that I found on the Internet is strictly Biblical according to the gospel of Christ Jesus. Does anyone disagree? If so, why?

    The order of salvation:

    Effectual Calling - Divine Act
    Regeneration - Divine Act
    Repentance -Divine & Human
    Faith -Divine & Human
    Justification -Divine
    Positional Sanctification -Divine
    Adoption -Divine
    Progressive Sanctification -Divine & Human
Perseverance In Holiness - Divine & Human
    Glorification -Divine

Possibly. But wouldn't one normally hear the call in the gospel before regeneration?

  4. I agree:
Yet I must stipulate that the effectual calling is only effective to those that respond. It is effectual tho, because it does accomplish what God intends it to.

See, all is of God. Stay away from irrestible grace & salvational predestination and we pretty much agree.

Oh yea!!! Regeneration follows faith. Otherwise you get an "A".

Ken after thinking about it regeneration has to come before effectual calling... Since the quickening comes first according to Ephesians 2:1 then effectual calling must follow after the quickening. Then the effectual calling is for the living man that has the spiritual hearing ear and seeing eye and whose heart has been changed by God... Regeneration... And not to a dead man!... Regeneration must come first followed by effectual calling!... Brother Glen [IMG]

    Warm Christian greetings!

Ken, You are correct to put regeneration before repentance; a person cannot repent if he is dead, he has to be made alive (regenerated) first! ;)

    Kind regards

Ken, how are you defining "adoption" (number 7 in your order)?

    The order of salvation:

Effectual Loving - ALL are Loved - Divine Act
Effectual Drawing - ALL are Drawn - Divine Act
Effectual Enabling - ALL are enabled - Divine Act
Faith - ALL are given a measure of faith- Divine

Repentance - ALL are called to Repent, Divine & Human, SOME choose to repent

Adoption--Regeneration-Forgiveness-Justification-- Divine, ALL happen at one time.

Progressive Sanctification- begins at justification -- Divine and human

Perseverance In Holiness - same as progressive sanctification -- Divine & Human

    Glorification -Divine

I found this on the Internet. The term "adoption" was not defined.

I personally would put adoption right after justification, since we have already received the spirit of adoption, although I can see some reason to put closer to the end, since Romans 8 also says that we are eagerly waiting out adoption--the redemption of out bodies.

Though, perhaps positional sanctification can be placed after justification and before adoption. But I can see how adoption could be placed ahead of positional sanctification.

I see positional sanctification as part of justification, since justification means being counted righteous.

I edited "Sanctification" to "Positional Sanctification". That should work whether separated or included as a part of justification. [IMG]

    Works for me.

Although, to get really nitpicky, I also think the case could be made that repentance is a necessary component to saving faith and not really a separate thing....
