Oswald Chambers: A Cautionary Look at a Popular Devotional Teacher

Chambers, in common with many of the so-called “deeper life” advocates, builds up an artificial tension between intellect and mere obedience, as if both are not needed. They are both as essential as two wings on a plane. We cannot be obedient to what we don’t understand. God’s people die for a lack of knowledge, as the prophet said.

The second work of grace that the author has an issue with reminds me of the second work of grace required for the Calvinist to be regenerated to believe.
Matthew 7:5
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

I have other thoughts about the article, but this is the one that stuck with me to the end of the article. ( It was also not that far from the end)
There are some concerning thoughts as they are presented in the article. I will go back and read the context of his devotional before answering any individual thought.
