Why this kind of response to a reasonable request?

 

So, I take it you're not a big fan of that whole "don't cause a weaker brother to stumble" thing, huh?

 

If you see me using words you find offensive, rbell, please feel free to correct me. I don't think I use any words that could be considered offensive, but I do have an irreverant sense of humor (truthfully, the only thing I take seriously is the Gospel...everything else is fair game) and I know some people find that offensive sometimes, but that is the last thing I mean for it to be.

 

I thank God that I ceased at the age of 16 (before I was saved) to use ANY vulgar words. I simply noticed one day that I was able to turn it on around other teens and off around adults. I decided to turn it off entirely before I embarrassed myself by using it front of adults--although that's where the kids learn it in the first place.

Good for you, especially to do it at 16. It's a terribly hard habit to break.

As a lifelong Phillies' fan and season ticket holder since 1977, I can still remember a game against the Pirates where Andy Van Slyke walked over to the stands right in front of us and told one particularly obnoxious and profane fan, "It's OK if you want to heckle me, that's part of the game. But there are ladies and children sitting near you and I don't want to hear you using that language in front of them again. Tell me I stink. Tell me I can't hit. Call me a crybaby if you want to, but using that kind of language in front of ladies and children is something a little boy does, not a man. Now be a man and show some respect for the people around you."
