Foster care is one of the most amazing ways a Christian family can impact the world and change our future. That these children are immigrants doesn't make them less important to Jesus.

Well, at least we're not going to foot the bill for a luxury hotel to house them in. 
They are not immigrants. They are illegals/criminals invading our borders.

And you presume Jesus was espousing illegal immigration with those words?
Romans 13:1-7 makes it abundantly clear that God expects us to obey the laws of the government. The only exception to this is when a law of the government forces you to disobey a command of God.
Acts 5:29, NASB
29 But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men.

First off the US IS NOT Jesus or the kingdom. Second if you like to twist scriptures here goes;
John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Nope. I am showing evidence that Jesus thought highly of children. He even mentioned that we should come to him as children. Calling children criminals with all the hate and vile bitterness that goes along with it is a dangerous thing to do. But seriously, I don't expect most of the people on this forum to show any sort of Christian kindness to anything that isn't lily white and born in this holy of holies America. Of course, they have to ignore most of how this country came about, including the holy and sacred Idol of Liberty that states...
"Give me your tired, your poor,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
And as you guys love to sqawk about, the Leader of this country as said he is enforcing the law and simply showing human kindness to children with no parents with them... The God ordained leader of this country. Ooops!

The fact that these children matter to Jesus has nothing to do with the fact that we have laws governing our sovereignty and borders, and I think Jesus would agree! You say they are immigrants, I say they are illegal immigrants, and that makes the difference. Even Jesus would demand that His people do things according to how Ceasar would demand they be done! He would want us to treat criminals with love and compassion, but still enforce the laws of the land we live in!
We, as a nation and as individuals, help children all around the world, as we give beyond ourselves to make sure children from Haiti to the Sudan to Central America to the Philippines are getting medical help, clothing, education and food!
However, we are not obligated, as a nation [especially a nation that is not in any way a Christian nation], to spend our money on children and adults who have broken the laws, circumvented the immigration process and come here without permission.
What I find awfully ironic, is that folks like you would tell me, if I called this a Christian nation, that we are not, and never were founded on Godly principles! However, now that there is a crisis to care for these kids, beyond a short term event, upon which they should be deported, YOU say Jesus would want us, I assume us to mean the nation, to support these kids, make them citizens, and pay their way.
Well, pij, you can't have it both ways! A non-Christian nation is not obligated by God or Jesus to do anything for these criminals, other than get them immediate attention following their long, needless, self-made journey, and prepare them for a trip back home.
You liberal types are all the same. You invoke the compassion of Jesus when it serves you and soothes your conscience, but invoke separation of church and state when it doesn't serve you as well! Make up your mind pij, you need to make a stand that is consistent!
As a taxpayer, I'd rather give $6,000.00 to American children and the homeless vets! We just don't have the money to give it to every person that wakes up today and says to their self, "Self, let's go to America; things are good there, and we can have a better life!"
I think these folks should do everything possible to fix what is wrong in their own backyards, and stay out of ours, unless they decide to do what 700,000 people, every year does and that is patiently wait to get an invite to become a citizen, legally!
