Overstating Our Fears

Sen. John McCain has repeatedly characterized the threat of "radical Islamic extremism" as "the absolute gravest threat . . . that we're in against." Before we simply accept this, we need to examine the nature of the terrorist threat facing our country. If we do so, we will see how we have allowed the specter of that threat to distort our lives and take our treasure.

CTers have to be experts at overstating fears.

It's their stock in trade.

Do you like being afraid?
Whether you like it or not, it's expedicious to have a certan amount of fear.

I feel certain that the sailors on the decks of our battle wagons in WWII had some fear as they watched the kamikazis bear down on them; just as we ought to today as the modern kamikazis (muslim terrorists for you who think "FEAR" is a one sided value) bear down on us!!!!

He who says he has no fear is so dumbed down that there is no hope for him, or he is one of the world's biggest liars.

Fear, as used above, is not simply quaking like a bowl of jello, but a healthy respect for the damnable desires of others to do harm to innocents, and the alertness to repel such desires when possible.
This word has been co-opted by the purveyors of socialism so as to have ONLY a negative application - just like the queers have co-opted the word "GAY"!

Fear Not...

Isaiah 41:10 tells us: "...do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

 This is one of my favorite verses, and it best to remember that with God, all things are possible. Fear is of a spirit, and that spirit can be rebuked and put under the believers feet.

So, I am not fearful of terrorism, because I know there is nothing they can do to separate me from the love and presence of God Jehovah :godisgood:

Actually I was asking this question in context with the overblown fear we seem to have of "international terrorism". Our "leaders" and media continue to capitalize on our fear of the unknown because we choose not to know or understand what really confronts us.

A little fear is a good thing, irrational fear is irrational.

We've let a handful of cave dwelling extremists along with the help of our "leaders" and mass media take over our minds. We're being quietly led down a path to authoritarian government and international servitude while all our attention is focused on what turns out after closer inspection to be a second or even third rate threat to our way of life.

The SPP and North American "integration" is a much more immediate threat to our way of life than a handful of cave dwellers and extremists. Our fear of "terrorism" is working for those who would turn the United States over to foreign international control.

If you're so scared of a few extremists to see that...then buddy you're too scared.

Fear is fear.

You seem to be afraid enough for both of us, so I think I'll just pass and let you do your fear thing without me.
