Can someone expound the parable of the husbandmen in Matt.21:33-40. Certain things seem plain, such as the identity of who "lastly killed the Son", which referred to the Jews. Why does Jesus then say that the Lord of the vineyard "comes" and destroys those wicked husbandmen (the ones who "lastly killed the Son"). The parable in the next chapter seems to take on the same theme, and we have those murderers being destroyed when "the king sent forth his armies and burned up their city". Any nuggets out there??
