Parceling Out The Promised Land


On December 3, 1998 President Bush said, “In Texas, we have driveways longer than that.”



He was speaking about 9 miles, the width of Israel just north of Ben Gurion Airport, the sliver of land between the Palestinian State and the Mediterranean. Would President Bush want to defend a country nine miles wide?



Two big questions that must be asked: First, can Israel, so divided, survive?

Secondly, what will happen to those who are pushing the destruction of Israel? If the Annapolis summit is fully implemented, Israel will be forced to surrender:



*A significant part of Jerusalem

*The Western Wall

*The Temple Mount

*Christian and Jewish holy sites

*More than 90% of Judea and Samaria

*The businesses and homes of 100,000 residents

*Security (by releasing terrorists from prison)



That anyone would even contemplate taking part in such actions is incomprehensible. It is the sad results of imbibing the foul elixir of Replacement Theology. Unfortunately, more and more of professing Christendom is going the way of Replacement Theology.



The amazing thing about Israel is not that the Hebrews have consistently been a very good people, but that they have consistently been rebels against God. Repeatedly, we read in the Old Testament Scriptures of apostasy and rebellion.



Yet, God’s eternal plan for the Land and the People cannot be thwarted—even by Israel. The plan still stands. Either we acknowledge it or pay the price.
