Hi, Where are some pastor retreats in the Eastern US?
There is one here in WV called Faith Mountain that is just wonderful. You can read about it at www.faithmountain.org . I have heard there are others around, but just can't seem to find out any info on them.

I have had the pleasure to stay at Faith Mountain a couple times, and really come back refreshed.

So where have you stayed and how do I contact them?

If Pastor Retreats is not acceptable, what about Pastor Getaways (sounds a little like he has committed a crime). What about Pastor Escapes (sounds like he is in prison). We may just have to stay with the old standby, Pastor Retreats. ;)

Maybe Ohio is too far west, but the Moorehead Manor ministry under James Binney is a great place for pastors to get away. You can find it at wwww.leadministries.net [IMG]

I am so thankful for the retreat my family and I went on last january. Our church is blessed to be part of a program funded by a great Christian lady who has gone on to her reward. The fund does many good things but they also have a special program just for pastors. Long story short they provided all the money for my family to take a cruise to the bahamas. It was fun and it was something we never expected to be able to do but the best part is that it was the January Bible Study cruise and my favorite pastor the late Adrian Rogers was the main speaker. If any of you have the ability to take a trip like this I hope you will take it. The bars are closed, the casino is shut down and all the entertainment is handled by christian speakers, singers and comedians.

Fairhaven near Bristol, TN is one of the best. It is a first class place with beautifully furnished chalets. It was begun to give pastors a quiet place in which ro come apart.

I am going to give you guys a jewel of information. After you take me up on this you may send your donations to my wife and I by check!!

Check out White Stone Inn in Eastern Tennessee. It is named for the White Stone in Revelation. The owner caters to preachers.

How many of these places are free? Deer Ridge and some of the ones on teh links were completely free. I spent a week at Deer Ridge this summer. The only thing it cost me was the gas to get there. The food, accomodations, reading material ... all that was free. It is great for pastors of small churches living on a budget.

Faithmountan is $40 a night for a pastor's family. It is so serene and peaceful. A wonderful Jewel in the hills of West Virginia.

They treat you like a king while you are there.
