Pastors Salary

A low salary can keep one humble. A high salary can go to a person's head and pride goeth before destruction. Many a preacher has let riches rule his life.
Arrogance is not merely for the rich. A pastor who cannot provide for his family and a church that will not support him adequately hides behind a false sense of humility. Humility is an attitude not a condition. You cannot make someone humble by depriving them of income.

Jesus told the disciples when He sent them out not to take money or extra clothes. Paul wrote that God would supply all his need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God's provision for meeting needs is not passive. Paul also wrote, “For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10 NASB

Many times, we let our wants outweigh our needs and we, as branches, get weighted down so much that we need pruning. Ask yourselves when you see something that you would love to have... Do I need it? Am I breaking God's command not to covet by desiring this thing?
Pruned to the trunk! Is it wrong for a pastor to desire to enjoy such pleasures such as: medical co-pays, repairs to the car and adequate food for his family?

How were those needs met?
