I read that. It is sad. She is a great coach. And she isn't the self-pitying type. She's tougher than most men coaches.

Symptoms have lingered for at least a year, Pat has said. This is indeed sad and has consumed water-cooler talk all over Rocky Top today. This woman is the face of UT. Dementia does not discriminate and doesn't care if you're Pat Summitt or the second cousin to the neigbhbor of Pat Summitt's second cousin.

If Pat is in the early-mid stages, we had better enjoy her genius while we can. I lost my father as he was in the early-mid stages, and trust me, it can take you downhill fast. The sad thing is this disease can make sudden changes and then plateau for years. So you can drop off the table and stay there for years before there are other changes.

Pray for Pat and her son Tyler and all who will care for her and love her. That last group? Well, they're all of us on Rocky Top as well as all who love college basketball.

That's really somber news. She's done a lot in the sports world.

Does anyone know if she is a believer?

I know of a couple of churches she has attended over the years. At one church's years ago, she would often bring the team. One year two or three were professed faith during a service and two of them went into missions work.

But as far as a direct quote is concerned, I don't have one.

:praying::praying: She conducts herself well in the public eye...It would be nice to know if she has a profession of faith...

Pat Summitt is an "institution" here in the Volunteer State. The little community of Henrietta (along TN Hwy 12 near Ashland City) can rightly be proud of its "Favorite Daughter."

I lost my mother to the same disease that Pat has, so I have some idea of what may happen to her.

We need to be in prayer for her, her family, for those many student-athletes & for UT in general.

May God bless her, and may His kingdom increase through the testimony and influence of Pat Head Summitt.

I was very sad to hear this news. She is so respected, especially here in the Volunteer state.

Yeah, Tomvols, Iconoclast, it would be nice to hear if she knows Christ as Savior. What a terrible disease this is that she has been stricken with and so young.
