I heard Worley's song for the first time today. Why does he conflate bin Laden and Saddam? Nobody says we "shouldn't worry about bin Laden." He and his minions should be hunted down; I don't know anyone who says otherwise.

I heard Worley perform the song for what I think was the first time in public on the Grand Ole Opry while watching it CMT a few weeks ago.

Actually, there people who think we should just leave the terrorists, including bin Laden, alone because if we might make them mad and they might do something to us again.

I heard that song on the radio a couple of days ago. Tears welled in my eyes as i drove down the road, overlooking NYC. More people need to listen and remember instead of picking the song apart. I believe alot of American's have forgotten. [IMG]

    Dear Friends,

Yes Americans are a people that do forget. They also forgive and forget.

But when we see the nations raging as we approach the end of the age should the church be raging along with them. Have we brought drums into our churches to beat out the drums of war? And what should the church be doing? Should we not be redoubling our efforts in mission outreach, in spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth while there is still time?

Pope Urban preached the first crusade back in 900 years ago. It was in France strange to say. Now our church leaders like D.James Kennedy and John Hagee are preaching the "last crusade".

The Pax Americana has global responsibility for maintaining peace and law and order. This war is justified because of bandits on the roads disrupting that peaceful flow of goods and services. It is now America's turn and her responsibility to maintain peace in the world even as the British did in the 19th century.

Before I say any more I will tell you that my nephew is radar officer on board the Australian missile frigate "Anzac". They are guarding the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in the Persian gulf. Being of shallow draft the Anzac is in very close to Iraq. If they are fired on by a missile from the shore they might not have time to respond.

This Anglo-American action will go forward because of our national anger and our responsibility to maintain the peace. There is nothing wrong with that. God even called pagan kings like Babylonian King Nebudchadnezzar His "servant". But even as we support what our countries are doing isn't it also important to remember that our ultimate loyalty is to the Kingdom of Christ and His rulership in human hearts? Doesn't our loyalty to Christ, the Sacrifice Lamb that people of faith have always focussed on, go beyond even our loyalty to king and country? Didn't our Father Abraham go out by faith in search of a city, a city of shalom, not made with hands?

Is our ultimate home London, Sydney, or New York/Washington D.C.?

Or is it laid out for us in that glorious holy city, the New Jerusalem that John saw in Rev. 21?

And if the New Jerusalem is our final home should we not also be acting swiftly to fund our missionaries and speed the Gospel outreach in such a time as this?

    Blessings to all,

    Gavin

I think that everyone has forgotten that bin Laden is a Saudi (just like the Sept. 11th attackers) and not an Iraqi.

When talking about going to war, hype and hoop-la need to be put aside while looking at the grim realities. In previous wars, American industry has come through for us with increased production to meet the needs of the war-time military. Now that U.S. industry has been sold down river to foreign interests, what will we do now, in time of war????....maybe tell China and Mexico that they need to step up production in order to get us through this thing?

There are so many things that need to be fixed, which should never have been allowed to fall into disrepair, before getting into a war. The crippling foreign trade agreements which we have need to be canned. Factories need to be reopened, U.S. troops need to be taken out of places where they don't belong(like the Balkans)and put to work guarding U.S. borders. Our borders need to be sealed and illegal immigrants need to be rooted out and sent packing. Government bureaucracies need to be purged of all back-stabbing foreign sympathizers and all ties with the U.N. need to be severed, because how can you fight a war while conferring with an entity that does business with and perhaps even sympathizes with your enemy?

    Christians!
Have we forgotten that we are aliens on this fallen earth?
I understand patriotism... but when it comes to born again believers, with eternity in view, flag waving, war talk and drum beating should not be our lot.
    Love in Him

But America was founded on the belief in God. In America, patriotism and Christianity go hand in hand.

"In God We Trust" is written on our currency.
"One nation under God" is in our pledge of allegence.

Our Christian heritage and our American Heritage are entertwined. This is who we are.

    In Christ,
    Laurenda
