"But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss."

The detrimental effects of Paul's words on the Calvinistic scheme of things is too obvious to need further comment.

Yikes! It's not obvious to me, and I'm a dyed-in-the-wool calvinist.

Either you don't understand Calvinism very well, or there's something there you see that I don't.

And the Campbellites think every verse on faith is eliminated by "an axe and two 38s". (Acts 2:38). The Tail can't wag the dog. Shoulda coulda woulda, none of these refute anything.

It's like the fellow who said (in an attempt to undermine the sovereignty of God), "Well, suppose God has a plan for me, but I decide to go jump in front of that moving train--how about that?" I said to him, "If you did that, I'd say you were predestined to be a meathead, and you made your calling and election sure."

Stupidity knows neither race nor creed, but as the sign on my classroom wall states:

LIFE IS HARD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE STUPID
