WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump abruptly walked out of a closed-door meeting with congressional leaders Wednesday in the White House Situation Room after Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she wouldn't fund his border wall even if he ended the government shutdown.

"She said 'No,'" Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said, adding that Trump slammed the table. "He said, 'Then we have nothing to discuss' ...He just walked out of the meeting."

Trump quickly confirmed Schumer's version of events in a tweet, making the details of the testy exchange the only thing the president and his Democratic counterparts could agree on in their fight over reopening a partially closed federal government and funding a border wall.

My only question is that why he wasant able to get the wall during 2 years of a full Republican Congress?

Right now it's all spin. Both sides are using the American people (and the 800,000 workers) as political pawns. Neither can simply give in without a path to "save face". We are too far towards the next election for that.

Both sides have to at least appear to have moved forward on their promises. Both sides have lost touch (long ago) with all but their own disciples.

No no, Trump is sincere and he is standing on solid principle not just to save face. Hes just doing what he said he would do. The dems are just wanting a voting base.

I would also think that there are a few(?) Rs that are seriously debating whether to retire/hop to the dims/just try to tough it out HOPING the 2020 will solve their problem!
Who knows!?
All I can say is that I am VERY glad that HE is still in charge.

Trump has offered several compromises. Democrats only answer is NO.
