Church officials prepare special raincoat for Black Nazarene
“Rain or shine, the procession will push through … We have a special raincoat made for the Black Nazarene. It’s transparent so that devotees can still see Him,” said Fr. Douglas Badong, parochial vicar of Quiapo Church.

Black Nazarene - Wikipedia
The Black Nazarene was carved by an unknown Mexican from a dark wood in the 16th century in Mexico and then transported to the Philippines in 1606. It depicts Jesus en route to his crucifixion.

Holes are cut in the wall behind, through which the long end of the gold trimmed cross extends, and through which pilgrims can access the idol's feet:

Reminds me of a story I heard... In school all the children were asked to do a drawing... As the teacher was walking around looking at their work. she saw houses, landscapes, seascapes, animals, and birds... One little girl was busily drawing away and the teacher couldn't exactly make out what it was... So she ask the little girl and what are you drawing... She said I'm drawing a picture of God!... The teacher was amused and said honey, no one knows what God looks like?... The little girl turned to the teacher and said they will when I get done!... Brother Glen:D

A picture painted by the wIhite artists of Europe. In reality, Jesus Christ was a Semite and He probably had skin with a darker hue.

I have a feeling that Padre was being facetious!

BTW Padre, at least you could have found a picture where he was wearing a tie!
