Phillies close to 10,000 losses

THey are ahead of the cubs? Wow! Of course the Cubs have had many good teams that have just flopped come pennant time.

 

The local paper here in Philly has been tracking this story for the past several weeks and they have been telling old tales of Phillies' failures from the past. It's a shame that this is getting publicity right now because the 2007 Phillies team is a pretty good team and they are in the pennant race. I guess it's to be expected in the city that once booed Santa Claus!

 

The Phillies had brutal teams for decades. Their first and only W.S. win wasn't until 1980. In fact, I think their only other W.S. appearance before then was in 1950 against the Yankees, in which they got swept. They may have been in it back in the 1910's once or twice.

 

The Tampa Bay D-Rays will soon make ther own record for losing. They've been around 9 1/2 years and already lost over 900 games. We won't be satisfied until we hold this record! :BangHead: :tear:

 

Wow. The Devil Rays could reach that mark in a lot shorter time...

 

So the D-Rays are at a 100 loss per year rate....it won't take that long!

Amazingly, the Braves have the second largest number of losses in history.

But the Reds are making a 'great leap backwards', this year, and could soon overtake both the Braves and the Phillies at the current rate of implosion! :laugh: :laugh:

Every year starts of the same, high hopes...but then April ends!

 

Griffey talked like he's going to veto any trade. I hope he does. He's not the problem. Dunn is another story. Freel (as much as I like him) or Hatteburg should be trade bait before anyone else. Or maybe Edwin.
