What's a reading room?

I've lived in a 1 bedroom apt with my son (the living room was my living room, bedroom, study, and ministry hdqtrs), a 1 bdrm apt by myself with 3 rooms (I used the dining area as a study), and now I live in a basement apt. I have a bedroom, bathroom, and a "sitting room" that is my study and living room.

I guess you mean a room where you usually read?

I have 2 phones at arm reach 24/7 regardless of what room I'm in. And I mean "regardless of what room I am in." :tear:

You might be asking yourself, Self, how is it that P51 can laugh and cry at the same time in regards to having 2 phones within reach regardless of what room he is in?

Well I am very glad you asked.

I used to have a ring tone that played "More than a Feeling" by Boston. Until one day in a public restroom..... Well you get the picture.

Hello! No more ring tone. LOL!!!

The sad part is, while I was in the Dentist chair getting drilled on, I forgot to turn the Company cell phone off and there came the tell tale "BEEP BEEP."

My Dentist jumped and I yelled and he cried, I cried and we both laughed later.

So there you go. Phones can cause you to laugh and cry at the same time.

A phone in the bathroom? No way! I'd NEVER get my girls out of there.

Wait a minute--this might be a good way to get rid of telemarketers.

Who is going to know if you are in the reading room? Maybe the echo gives it away. Be good stewards of your time and multitask.

I was at my chiropractor and he was just returning from lunch. We chatted in the lobby for a moment when his cell phone rang. I won't tell you what his ringtone was but I'll give you some hints: It was written by Tchaikovsky, featured in Disney's Fantasia and individual pieces of the ballet are referred to as suites...

He said he didn't know the name of the music but liked it. After I told him what the piece was called he changed it to the Flight of the Bumble Bee thinking the original ringtone probably wasn't a good match with his business.

A lot of people I know don't have landline telephones anymore; they just use a cell. This is very common especially among younger people (I would say under age 30).

Anyway, I don't see the issue here. You can turn the ringer off if you don't want the phone to ring. My phone goes into night mode around 9 p.m. and won't ring.

My cell phone has "Ode to Joy" which I hope will someday ring in that location, with perfect timing!

I don't have a landline. If I want a phone in the "reading room", I'll just take my cell phone with me. Or if I had a landline, I would use a wireless phone so I wouldn't have to install one in my bathroom.

Five folks have said I'm nuts! Well, I'm just wondering how many of you (esp the "5") have missed a very important phone call beacuse you were "reading"!

We have a phone in our living room (which is usually where we read) and an extension in the kitchen (which helps tremendously if I'm cooking or doing dishes).

I also read in bed, but no phone there. I go to bed to sleep, not talk on the phone. :)

Is a "reading room" one that's used only for reading? I live in a trailer and don't have a "reading room"--unless you count the spare bedroom where I have my computer.
