Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg

    We are going soon, but it's been several years since we last went. Anything new or exciting we should see while we're there? We plan to go back to the Dixie Stampede and Ripley's Believe it or Not (per the kids' request.) I don't care to go back to Dollywood, but we do like to visit historical sites and museums.

    Any suggestions?

    By all means go see The Miracle. It's biblically sound, the special effect will knock your socks off. Imagine angels flying over your head onto the stage. Live camels. The guy who plays Satan stole the show, but the bad guys always do.

    Agreed! It is worth EVERY penny! Also, Sunday morning Breakfast with the Blackwoods in the same plaza by the Miracle Theater is worth every penny, too. Church and eats and blessings all bundled up in one!

    When we went to the Miracle, they gave us an automatic discount for the Blackwood Breakfast and a coupon for Tony Romas which are all right there together. It was a wonderful weekend last October.

    If you haven't lined up a place to stay, I recommend the Hampton Inn on the River. (There are several.) Balcony overlooks the river. Continental breakfast is great, not just the usual muffins and fruit. Free popcorn in the lobby every evening. Very nice accommodations and friendly staff, right smack dab in the middle of everything in Pigeon Forge.
