PInkies

I was wondering what we "Calvinists" should call ourselves if (like me), we've never read Calvin's Institutes. I've read Luther's Bondage of the Will (a few times, actually). I agree with what Luther says in that book, so I'd call myself a Lutheran. Unfortunately, that label is already taken and I don't agree with Lutheran doctrines.

I have read some A.W. Pink, and I agree with him. If you have, too, then maybe we should call ourselves "Pinkies". What do you think?

[Note: This is a joke. This is only a joke. If this had been a serious post you would have been instructed to tune into your local Serious Post station for updates. We now return you to your regularly scheduled threads.]

Instead of "pinkies" it should be "all thumbs" the way the Gospel is clumsily presented. :D

Great, now you've done it. From now on I'm going to think of you as a naked pink newborn mouse.

I'd rather just read the Bible and be called a Christian.

I get a kick out of the dear folks that want to avoid association with John Calvin. I went through that phase myself for a while. So it's:

Sovereigntist
Predestinarian
Determinist
Sovereign Grace Believer
ANYTHING BUT CALVINIST!

Can you think of some other Calvin-avoiding labels?

Let's call the roll:

Dagg(ist)
Gill(ist)
Spurgeon(ist)
Boyce(ist)
Strong(ist)(for the 4 pointer heretic)

Any of those ring true?

Thanks Joseph but I was thinking of baptist calvinists, er, I mean, sovereigntist. Sproul is either reformed or presby. But what a great theologian anyway!
