I'm glad Trump is now listening to what his public health experts (Fauci and Birx) are telling him. Listen to Trump who is finally taking this infection seriously.
Yes do not panic because if you are young and healthy, you are likely to get a very mild illness that is similar to a cold, recover and then be immune. But you are not the ones we in the medical field are worried about. But you are the ones who can make the difference between this becoming a really bad epidemic for the US or a complete disaster for the US.
Because if this virus is just allowed to go unchecked, your hospitals and ICUs will get overrun very quickly. That is when people start dying, when doctors are forced to triage patients like a war zone and abandon patients before they have a chance at getting any treatment because there are 20 other patients who also need that ventilator. And when that happens, your best Emergency and ICU physicians and nurses will be dying as well because they will be exposed to large doses of the virus through a small mistake in how they use or remove their PPE.
Yes this will pass eventually. But what public health officials are trying to do is allow it to pass with the least devastation to the elderly, health care workers and health system as possible. Listen to Trump and your public health officials because that is the loving thing to do for your neighbours and your country.
