I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the humor forum. I decided to go with here, figuring it would get a bigger audience. If any of the moderators feel that it should go in the humor forum, feel free to move it.

    ----------------------------

"Best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most joyous traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, but with respect for the religious persuasion of others who chose to practice their own religion as well as those who choose not to practice a religion at all.

Additionally, a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year of 2003, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions have helped make our society great, without regard to the race, creed, color, religious, or sexual preferences of the wishes."

Disclaimer: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.

    ---------------------------

Nuts to all that, isn't just so much easier to say.....

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God Bless!!! :D :D :D

What I was wondering, is if people are not allowed to say Merry Christmas anymore, What would the day be called? Santa's Day, St. Nick's Day? Actually, it would probably be St Nicholas's Day, in keeping with St. Patrick.

Actually in calling it "St. Nick's Day" (since St. or Saint is a Christain label implying some sort of relationship with the creator), you could run the risk of offending. The most P.C. way of saying it this year would have to be "Wednes Day"

Actually Wednesday is a contraction of : Woden's Day in honor of the pagan god Woden as are all the days of the week.

    Sunday : Sun Day.
    Monday : Moon Day
    Tuesday : Zeus Day
    Wednesday : Woden's Day
    Thursday : Thor's Day
    Friday : Friden's Day
    Saturday : Saturn's Day

How about "Merry/happy December 25th?" Would that be politically correct enough? ;)

Well... I celebrate Christmas, so I say Merry Christmas. Most people are gracious enough to understand your intent and respond to it with a gracious "thank you, and to you as well"

People worry so much about offending people...that they are unnatural and insincere as a result of this fear. I'm not going to do that anymore.

People will get offended over the least little thing...there is little one can do to prevent it... We can only try to be genuine in our intent, be gracious to others, and decide to give the benifit of the doubt instead of being righteously indignant about how a person says something.
