Not that I agree with every single part others are saying but basically doesnt the Bible say in effect that what you DO NOT DO does have something to do with your salvation? Just as well as what you DO DO? lol!
AND OF COURSE THE BIGGEST IS WE RELY ON THE BLOOD OF THE CRUCIFIED AND RISEN SAVIOUR...
but that DOESNT NEGATE THE FACT THAT WHAT WE D

R DONT DO does have something to do with whether or not we are allowed into heaven right?
We go to heaven
because of Christ's redeeming work. Period.
But,
because Christ has redeemed us, we should live holy lives.
A life completely absent of the evidence of Christ's redeeming work indicates serious issues, and very likely no salvation...
But a
singluar sin is not a disqualification for salvation, nor does it revoke salvation, nor does it mean the person could not possibly be saved.
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is another issue and discussion, but that sin, according to Christ, is in a class by itself.
Rv:21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
here we go again...
SO if you die fearful, if you die after a lie, if you die because of a drug overdose...you have a down elevator ticket automatically?
Look at the preceding verses:
Revelation 21:6-7: He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
verse 8 is a word picture of those who die without Christ. It is
descriptive (they are condemned, and here's what they are like)--just as verse 6 is descriptive ("he who is thirsty"). It is not a
comprehensive AND causative verse...in other words, Revelation 21:8 does not list
all the sins that can send one to hell. Only one sin is needed! This verse is NOT saying, "these are the sins you will be condemned for--whether you have confessed 'Jesus is Lord' or not."
I do believe that there are rewards in heaven, and some will receive more than others. I
do believe that someone who dies with unconfessed sin in their life will quite likely see fewer rewards. But I also believe it is possible for something like this to happen:
Joe is a Christian man in his forties. He asked Jesus into his heart at age fifteeen. He has been baptized, teaches Sunday School, and witnesses to his neighbors. He spends time with God each morning. On this day, he is in his car. Just then, his cell phone rings. It's a business client he forgot to call that day. The client says, "Joe, I called you earlier and was waiting on your call." The Christian says, "Oh, I was just about to give you a call." (a lie)
He is distracted by the phone call, and does not see the light turn red. He plows into a dump truck and is killed instantly.
Now...he told a lie. That makes him a liar. And according to some, he cannot go to heaven.
What a load.
