Since I generally shoot from the hip in putting polls together I thought I would actually prepare. I plan to post a poll asking BB folks their favorite conservative talk show hosts and want to put together a thorough list of national hosts, and would start with the following:
    Rush Limbaugh (of course)
    Sean Hannity
    Bill O'Reilly
    Michael Savage
    Michael Reagan
    Michael Medved
    Mike Gallagher
Neal (Neil?) Boortz (though he might objective to the "conservative" label)
Laura Schlesinger (though her topic is not politics, conservative is definitely her philosophical perspective).

Any other national names to add?

Laura Ingraham. Her show was just added here in the Pittsburgh market in the AM; beats the local conservative and his self-righteous sidekick (he's just a Limbaugh knockoff anyway). Though we lost Boortz(It's ok, I can read his notes, http://boortz.com/nuze/index.html, faster than him dragging the same info out on the radio) Laura's show has been a witty and informative addition.

Glenn Beck has an excellent show, I listen to him via WLAC out of Nashville via the net.

I have difficulty accepting Bill O'Reilly as a conservative.

FTR, John Taylor is right about Laura Ingraham. Let me add that even though she is Catholic, she worked for Reagan and is pro-life and a card-carrying Republican and for building a great wall of China along our borders with Canada and Mexico.

Also, I think that Paladin is right about Bill O'Reilly. Last night he was saying that you can't expect Jews and Moslems to live under the laws of Jesus so we should have a secular government and decide what is good without reference to Jesus or Allah or Holy Cow (my words).

The trouble is, FTR and others, man does not know what is good. The only knowledge of good in this world is from The Holy Bible.

So, as usual, I turned Bill O'Reilly off last night. I just sat in the quiet.

Thanks much for the feedback. I knew about but had forgotten both of them, have heard Beck several times and enjoyed him.

I included O'Reilly because many do consider him a conservative and he does often voice conservative concerns. IMO, though I agree with him on many issues, Boortz seems even more stridently anti-Christian from the many comments I've heard him make.

Will continue to check for other suggestions and probably post the poll tonight. Thanks again.

From what few times I've watched O'Reilly, I'm not sure how much of a conservative he really is.

I agree with Paladin and church mouse. The last couple times I listened to O'Reilly I had to turn him off, and Glenn Beck is excellent. John, I also enjoy Laura Ingraham. I have traveled on the road a lot the last year and a half, so have been able to sample many shows.

Rush Limbaugh is the king of them all.

No, except for a few error, Michael Medved is king, although Laura Ingraham is a lot of fun on show business. But Medved has some Hollywood time under his belt, too.

I haven't heard any conservatives on the radio lately. Just republican apologists. Listening to them is one of the biggest wastes of time that anyone could spend imo.

Michael Medved is great, but there would not be any conservative talk show hosts if there had not been a Rush Limbaugh. He most defiently was a pioneer.

If you go by who is reviled the most by the left, it would have to be Rush.

Politicians invoke his name on the floor of Congress and the Senate. They mention him in interviews. They credit him with all kinds of power and influence he doesn't really have.

They even offer legislation to limit his audience.

Rush was an unpaid consultant in Bush's second election campaign.

Micheal medved ? Like listening to Kermit the frog.

And Laura Ingraham does not know anything about the bible, even though she invokes it all the time, out of context. Her catholocism blurs her perception. And she cuts off anyone who dares correct her on these issues.

Hannity, Ingraham, Medved, Reagan, all of them embarrassed me with their pope eulogies.

I used to listen to Savage, but he cut his XM radio feed.

Bill Bennett is interesting. He's what's on when I drive to work.

My main comment of Medved is that he speaks of Christians, especially evangelical Christians, so highly, when is he going to "get it" and become a completed Jew?

Savage is a nasty person but 90% correct. He doesn't understand economics at all.

He also knows almost nothing of the Bible, but loves to misquote it.
