I think it will be good to see her make fun of herself like McCain and Obama did last night. I actually have a better view of McCain after seeing him at that dinner. Now lets just pray the SNL writers don't write an inappropriate script or one that will bring further negative press to their campaign.

Well I did watch at least the first part. From what I heard there was a Script she didn't do( I think she felt it wasn't a piece she should do as to her situation) but was done by someone else. Maybe Tina I'm not sure. Like I said I only saw the first part of the show. And I think that would be the first time I intentionally planed to watch that show. And I saw nothing wrong in what she did as to the part I saw and I've not heard anything negative as of yet. So I say I think she did a Good Job.:applause:

An entertaininer presented the opening script, then Palin walked in after brief on camera delay in the hall in which the dialogue surrounding her (between two guys, seemed to be alluding to Palin as actually being the one doing the script and they wanted 'Tina'. Palin steps in and introduces herself..... and their comment is she better in person. She steps into position at the podium and 'Tina' steps aside. Palin then introduces the show 'welcome to SNL'.

No big deal!

They usually lead in with a joke..... (I missed this part...flipping channels on my analogue...manual control box)
When I tuned in... Palin was in the hall back/side stage, approaching to come on with two guys preceding her talking about her lead in for the show... that they want Tina.... and assuming that she was Tina and Tina, already on stage, was her: she steps in and introduces herself to them then enters the stage behind the podium and announces SNL.

Perhaps I should ask you what did you see?

Okay same except I guess from a Woman's point of view (or maybe I shouldn't be assuming you are a Man sorry)

Sarah was back stage with one man I didn't know the other was Alex Baldwin he was calling her Tina (sorry I guess I didn't listen as to what the conversation was about) but when Alex was introduced (by the un known to me man) Alex apologized she then said that's okay Steven Baldwin is my favorite Baldwin Brother he then led her into where Tina ( as Sarah ) was interrupted by Alex and Sarah stepped in and said I won't be taking any questions but then introduced the SNL.

I don't really see the difference in your view. You both made a good review of the clip.

I understand she never intended to do the song at the end IOW it was written into the script that she wouldn't do that song. Good thing, that would not have been very presidential. Funny but not presidential.

The rest of the show was pretty raunchy (I never watch SNL). They managed to be in her face (and mine, as a Christian) the rest of the show with vulgarity, some I felt were directed towards Christians (homosexuality), etc. As far as I'm concerned, it is a filthy, vulgar, disgusting show and Sarah probably couldn't wait to get a shower after she left. :tear:

IMNSHO, this was a futile attempt (as has been typical of McCain) to get the left to "like" him.

If any conservative thinks, or worse expects, they will get any remotely fair treatment from the left, then they deserve whatever happens. ('Course I'm not calling McCain a conservative; he just happens to fall to the right of the current options.)

I recorded the show and what little I saw of her was, at best, mildly mocking.

Possibly I missed some, if there were some short segments, but I couldn't stomach the garbage I did see when I stopped for "play" so maybe I am misjudging from the bit that I did.

At any rate I don't see that it was a positive in any way from a professional, political, or personal standpoint to be a part of such drivel.

I think she wasted her time.

Was she funny? Yes...but:

The people there are convinced. A "human side" of Palin won't matter.
To others, they will say her silliness didn't look presidential.

I think she should have skipped it. But there are others who say "there is no such thing as bad publicity."

I think it was good for her to be seen by people beyond her supporters that go to the rallies. Hard to gain when you're fishing in your own pond. 6% of the voters still say they are undecided and she gave a positive performance on SNL.

If she had of made a fool out of herself it would have been different.

You may very well be right.

Isn't it funny that that SNL cast gets paid to make fools of themselves...but Palin had to avoid that?

Politics is a weird business.

I agree, I think it's sad that the opinion of a candidate would go good or bad based on a comedy skit but they are saying SNL caused Ford the election. It shows what kind of people we voters are.

I would say the Nixon pardon, the continuing economic/social mess in the mid 1970's, and the appeal of "Washington outsider" Jimmy Carter cost Ford more than SNL.
