Wow! This could be really bad news for us if Mexico goes the way of Venezuela. We only think that a lot of Mexican citizens are fleeing their bad economy. If Obrador gains power and sends the Mexican economy further down the toilet we may really, really need troops at the border.

Polls show Mexican race too close to call

By Traci Carl, Associated Press Writer

Mexicans chose Sunday between a leftist offering himself as a savior to the poor and a conservative who warned his rival's free-spending proposals threaten the economy, but exit polls showed the presidential race was too close to call.

Financial markets rallied on preliminary results that showed Calderon, a fiscally conservative former energy secretary, in the lead. With 97.98 percent of polling stations reporting, Calderon of the National Action Party had 36.37 percent and Lopez Obrador of the Democratic Revolution Party had 35.37 percent.

The PRI's Roberto Madrazo was a distant third with 21.55 percent, and minor candidates and write-ins accounted for the rest.
