israel just signed a $15 billion deal with Egypt to export natural gas to Egypt for 10 years. I don't know what Egypt uses gas for except to cook, or for hot water tanx, Maybe they produce electricity with it; I don't know. But at any rate, they want it.
This could have some prophetic significance. it's a sign of peace between Egypt & Israel. Personally, I believe they've fought their last war, as the time for the fulfillment of the last of Isaiah 19 comes closer. While Egypt is "officially" a Moslem nation, mostly Sunni, some 8 to 10 % is Christian, with their numbers slowly growing. OTOH, Israel is only 2% Christian, & almost 18% Moslem, while the nation is, of course, "officially" Jewish.
Speaking of Isaiah 19, I still don't know who is "Assyria" today. While the remains of Nineveh are in Iraq, we don't know if any Iraquis are descendants of the old Assyrians or not, as that area has changed hands many times since Assyria existed. But God told Isaiah that some day, Israel, Egypt, & Assyria would be connected by a highway. So, in God's sight, the Assyrians still exist. (I suspect God intends to bless them for coming to Him in Nineveh at Jonah's preaching.I believe many Assyrians of that generation continued to worship God.)
