So Monday I accepted a promotion.

Wednesday, my youngest daughter turned 18 (still at home, along with a 15-year old boy).

And this morning, my wife was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Won't have the actual biopsy report til around next Wednesday. Appointment with a specialist has already been made.

Roller-coastal of a week. Prayers are appreciated.

PET scan was completed Thursday. Technician said he wasn't officially allowed to say anything, but he saw only the one spot. Surgery on Monday; if the pathology comes back as stage one or two, then the surgery should be the end of it.

Thank you for your prayers. Please keep 'em coming.

Surgery went well. Doctor didn't see any other indications of cancer. We'll have the pathology report back by Friday. She's home and doing well.

    Thanks for the prayers!!!

That's great news, Don. I guess it'll be a belated prayer, but I'll pray for you tonight.

Just got the pathology report; Stage 3. Only one lymph node. Surgeon thinks chemo without radiation; we're setting up an appointment with an oncologist.

    More to come.

UPDATE: My wife finished her last chemotherapy session last week. CT scan yesterday showed no signs of cancer. We now go on a periodic scan schedule for the next couple of years.

Thank you much for the prayers!

That is great to hear Brother Don, my wife also just finished a bout with breast cancer and in case you and other don't know this is Breast Cancer Month... Went through surgery and chemotherapy and was a witness for the Lord in all she went through... Strong in the Faith as I also am... We put our hands in the Lord as he always knows what he's doing... Second time for me as I lost my first wife to kidney cancer 11 years ago, so saying that it was quite a trial for me but as I say I surrender to the will of God. He has helped me in the past in ways I can't elaborate on... Only to say he has always been there and will always be there for his children... Pray your wife hears nothing but good reports and my prayers go out to you and your family... Brother Glen

Returned from the city today (even the hotels have better internet than I do at home!); invasive scan this morning was clear. Have to wait for cancer doctor's analysis, but looks like she won't have to do that again for 3 years. 4 months since last update, still cancer free! Thanks for all the prayers!
