We have many Navajo men who come to the church for meals. They are drunks and often inebriated when they come by. We keep pre-made sandwiches in the freezer to give out to them along with healthy snacks and vitamin water.

Dilbert once had a wife and children, nice home, attended church, played the guitar and lived a reasonable life. We now feed him almost daily at least one meal.

We have also had 15 teen suicides by hanging (Navajo) since last October in a community of approx 1900. We held two of those funerals at our church. The father of both of those children (Dean) is one of the towns biggest drug dealers. He came into the church the day before his sons funeral which was only three weeks after his teen daughters funeral at out church as well. He wanted to know if I would let him attend his own son's funeral. His mother and her family did not want him their because of who he is and what he does. Dean will beat someone up for money and is involved in many other things of this nature.

I spent two hours with him that day as he balled like a baby over his children and his life.He said he was tired of it all and wanted a change. But he walked out of my office an inch from making a decision.

These are just a couple of examples of what I see 3 times a week or more every week.

Praying for you. God is using you to touch lives and bring them to the Savior!

It's heartbreaking what happens to people even when bring on their own consequences. Even more when their sin has terrible effects on their families.

You are certainly in my prayers. It is a blessing to this community that the Lord has put you there. There are missionaries in Eastern Kentucky in isolated areas that regularly talk about similiar situations. God bless you, your family, and ministry.

:praying: for your church in this special ministry for the Lord. The Lord loves and died for sinners and we are so thrilled to read that You have a heart like the Lord for this community who have known pain and misery for too long. May they find the joy of having You as their Savior, Lord and God.Bless this ministry of love and understanding who are sharing the Gospel of Hope in You, Lord Jesus
and in Your name, Jesus we are trusting You to hear and answer. Amen

Praise the Lord for these precious young girls who have accepted the Lord as their Savior. May the grow in Him to be used for the glory of the Lord Jesus!
Yes, we will continue to pray for this ministry and for the youth pastor and his wife.

In an hour and one half I will be going, with one of my deacons, to the home of one of the biggest drug dealers in our community. He came and visited me in my office about a month ago when his son committed suicide. He was broken and in tears wanting something else for his life.

He has a group of men who follow him very closely. This will be a follow up to his visit with me. We could use your prayers.

That's definitely a very worthy request!

Alcoholism is also very prevalent in central AK, and my heart is there, but not until the girls are grown so they're not at risk being around drunks all the time.

Do you see any success with the adults? As in, do they ever straighten out for say...more than a year?

I just met with him. He asked me "Why do you care about what happens to me?" After talking with him for a while he is to come to church Sunday Morning. Please keep him lifted up in prayer.

We have had three more teen suicide attempts in the last couple of weeks. That makes 8 attempts and 15 suicides since last Oct in this community of about 1900

Well Dean came to me last night after a failed attempted suicide. After my youth pastor and I talking with him for a few hours he gave in to God. God is now His Lord and Savior. Will be baptizing him Sunday Morning. This is 9 baptisms and 16 new members since Feb. God is moving in a dramatic way.
