Presbyterians Unsure if Jesus is 'The Way'

Like the church at Ephesus, they have lost their first love.

 

I recently saw a presbyterian minister on TV claiming that God was an ET

 

Interesting. I think I'll post a question on it in the theology forum. We might be suprised to find some baptists who will agree with it. Well, maybe not too suprised. EEK!

It has come a long ways from Princeton Seminary, once the great defender for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Charles Templeton, the founder of Youth for Christ, and pastor of the Avenue Road Church, later served by A.W. Tozer, decided to get more theological training. He went to Princton and was never the same. Templeton left the ministry and left the gospel. He became an agnostic. This is the end result of turning from the truths of God's word. As little acorns into great oaks grow, so a little poison turns a good man awry.
Cherish the truth at all costs.

I have read Templeton's account of those events...his book "Farewell to God". Quite interesting. BTW, I read where he died about a year or so ago.

Charles Templeton was a brilliant man, but his life certainly took a troubled road. He became the editor of the famous Toronto Daily Star, appeared on television and radio, and wrote many articles.

He was a great preacher and led many to the Lord Jesus. He died a lonely man and still questioning many things. Oddly enough, he said he still believed in Jesus as a Saviour, but he had many other doubts. Many of us were quite upset when he announced his changes in public.......but we were mostly concerned for him.

He died a number of years ago and it was a bleak funeral, I can tell you that. He once had everything, and what does he have now? Six feet of earth!

That's a great idea, I'll look for it. It might make a good poll, too.

 

Question is this Templeton you are speaking of the Templeton of the annual Templeton Awards?

I once meet a youth pastor who felt called to be light in the darkness of the PCUSA, I told him how sad it was that he considered the PCUSA a place of darkness. This article only confirms this sad very sad state. I once had a prof in college that was a Princeton grad and it almost brought tears to his eyes when he spoke about how far the once grand school had fallen from teaching the truth.

 

If there unsure if Jesus Christ is the way, maybe they ought to have there next conference at a Baptist Revival Tent Ministry.

If they dont believe that Jesus is the Way, then there is not alot of point having a church. Maybe they could all become a community service club like Rotary or Lions?

 

I believe the operative word should be

"Ichabod."
