I have an HP color laserjet 2550Ln. This week I replaced the black toner cartridge, but pages only print down the right side of a sheet, fading towards the middle, until blank on the left. There was a starnge "vibrating" sound as the carousel turned. I thought I might have a faulty cartidge, but replaced it with no difference. I have also replaced the imaging drum, still no difference. I checked HP's supprt online but their troubleshooting advice pretty useless.

    Any suggestions?

How do color pages print? If normal I would guess something wrong with new cartridges. If you stored them on end I'd pull it out and shake it good horizontally so the toner is distributed.

If color doesn't print right either I would guess something has gone wrong inside.

The printing on the right side of the page is perfect. I have tried shaking the cartridges. Tried loading and reloading them. Nothing. If all else fails it looks like I am calling an engineer on Monday and we all know what that means ££££££ or $$$$$$

I'm not familiar with that model, but check to see if the software has a clean nozzle function.

You may also want to download the drivers/software for it and reinstall it. If your hard drive or Windows has hiccupped, it very well could have corrupted them. Even swapping out the cartridge could have done it. Plus, the newer drivers may have a fix in them for something like this.
