Our language - in this case English, how we undertand a word and what concepts we assign to the use of said word.
They are part of our presuppositions.

How we know what we know.

We hear.
We either believe or do not believe what we hear.
Generally unless what we hear is contrary to something already believed we generally will believe anything we hear at some level.

Once we believe a thing heard, it becomes part of one's knowledge.

Faith is fundamental to knowing anything.

Faith is one of those words disagreed on.

Most of what we come to believe comes form others.

Beginning with the meanings we use in our language - from our parents, then teachers and from other sources, hearing, reading, and seeing, etc.

So you are saying faith is not "innate" but reflects belief and trust in something we have seen or heard. Thus those drawn to the Father have heard and learned from the Father, John 6:44-45.

Faith as a noun refers to the information believed to be true.
Faith as a verb refers to the our action to accept the information as true.
Faith can also refer to faithfulness, our action and commitment to adhere to those truths, such as our service to our Lord.

Yes, this verse supports that faith as a noun refers to the information believed to be true, thus a promise is hoped for.

Hebrews 11:1 is a case of faith, not the definition of faith. Since faith is essential to knowing anything. God gives everyone some faith through His natural revelation, Romans 10:18.
