Luke 2:36 tells us about Anna who was a prophetess.

Would you say a prophetess was only an OT office or did it continue thur NT times.

Would you recognize a woman who claims to be a prophetess?

Depends on your definition of prophet or prophetess. If you mean one who foretells I would not recognize man or woman. If a prophet is one who preaches I would not recognize a woman.

Acts 21:8-9

On the next day we left and came to Caesarea, and entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we stayed with him. Now this man had four virgin daughters who were prophetesses.

Seems the truth makes some uncomfortable.

No woman is allowed to speak in the assembly. That is the restriction. That leaves everywhere else.

Anyone, who is born again, has the Guide within, and should be speaking the Word with boldness.

God can also say something through them, that is His Word for that moment or situation. We've all had someone tell us something that we found later today be so.

We just don't add any words to the canon. We don't take what is spoken by a man, and carry it around as if it were Bible.
This is a huge problem, now, as there are huge sects of people following words spoken by men, in the name of God.

Would to God that we all spoke as we are moved by the Holy Spirit, and we stopped looking to long dead men for guidance, or living men that we don't assemble with, for a word to us.

"...every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head..." - 1 Corinthians 11:5

This instruction is given in the context of the assembly of believers for worship.

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 but this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour forth of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams:
18 Yea and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days Will I pour forth of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. Acts 2

No! First, because prophetic revelation has been bound up and sealed (Isa. 8:16-20; Rev. 1:3; 22:17-18)and the next revelation from God is Christ being revealed from heaven (Isa. 8:18; Rev. 22:19-20), therefore I would not recognize either a man or a woman who claimed to be a prophet or prophetess in this present age.

You allow women preachers in the Primitive Baptist Church now?

Already was fulfilled at pentacost, and during the Acts of the Apsotles!
