    If it were not for Churchill----modern day Brits would be spending Duetch Marks instead of Pounds!!!!!! Berlin would be the capital city of GB!!!

    It just proves that, contrary to what we'd like to believe, we really are more stupid than you! Apparently our 'defence' is that there's a toy dog in an insurance commercial called 'Churchill' and that means we don't think he's real:tonofbricks:

    I believe it just shows that the British primary education system is every bit as bad as it is in the U.S.

    Our high schools are churning out a lot of uneducated kids. Barely can read and can't find England on a globe, let alone Afghanistan and Iraq.

    I doubt it's true--I am always skeptical of polls. Am one of those "all or nothing" people, so IMHO you gotta poll everyone!

    I also think the English like to "believe" in Sherlock in much the same way that some people "believe" in Santa Claus even if they know he's not real. There is, I think, still a society in England whose sole purpose is to prove SH existed. I doubt the members of the society really believe it. It's just fun.

    Or maybe I'm just really big into defending my future home ... :thumbs:
