  1. I'm pretty new here. I was checking out many of the discussions and notice that many have been locked, How come they are locked ?

They were going on too long or got off topic OR they went downhill, really fast.

    Welcome anyway!

    Welcome to BB RightFromWrong.
Threads get closed for various reasons. Usually they get closed because of a page limit that is imposed on the forum that they may be in. For example in the Politics the page limit is 3 pages and the thread is closed. That way the politics forum is kept current.
In most other forums the page limit is about 20 pages (more or less), or at the discretion of the moderator.
A thread is often closed when it has gone too far off topic and/or the language had become demeaning, and not honoring to the Lord.
Sometimes a poster will start a post with information that is of a nature that is too sensitive to be in an open public forum, and therefore it will either be moved, deleted or locked.
These are some of the reasons threads are locked. I hope I have answered your question satisfactorily.

Just an fyi that DHK meant the News/Current Events forum and not the Politics forum. Many topics are shared between those two.

And the 20 page limit is a a function of the software that runs the Board.

They get locked because they get off track.

They get locked because people get mad.

They get locked because enough is enough. Already.

  9. Hey thanks all !

I was really interested in the one by Helen about creation. Lately at church that has been a big topic. It was mentioned that 90 % of Christians believe in the Gap theory or Creation evolution. I was surprised to hear that was the case. You'd think if God said he made everything in 6 days that he meant what he said. [IMG]

I would be interested in seeing the thread in question and sources for this data.

I think the 90% figure is really high if the data is for the US. It is a little closer if the data is for the entire world.

If you ask a gap theorist or a theistic evolutionist, they would probably say that God did mean what he said. They simply disagree with YECs about what it is He actually said.
