Question: Many Christians have accepted Jesus as their Savior through Benny Hinn Crusades right?

Just wondering because I was just reading about the Benny Hinn Fraud Posts!!

I never would have thought some of the things people are saying but it seems true. Wow.. Amazing.

But I mean those Crusades do cost alot of Money and It cant be easy to be traveling around the world. I just hope he aint in it for the money. It would be nuts.

I mean I have personally experienced a person praying for me and me just completely blanking out without the person even touching me. No one punched me or anything LOL

I felt the presence of the Lord. Have any one else felt that before????

I believe this modern-day phenomenon of being "slain in the Spirit" it is a form hypnosis.

I just looked on his website, the link 'How to Recieve Christ'. I would say it compares to what most people present as the gospel. I don't know what Benny Hinn preaches at his crusades, but I wouldn't presume to say that no one has ever believed on Jesus because of what he is preaching. However, that doesn't validate his ministry. Paul had this to say about the preaching of the gospel:

Phi 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
Phi 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Phi 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.
Phi 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

We can certainly rejoice if one gets saved through the preaching at a Benny Hinn crusade. But whether he is teaching sound doctrine is another matter all together. I have found myself in the presence of the Holy Spirit, and I don't believe it was the same spirit as the one performing on stage in Benny Hinn. I have heard too many testimonies of fraud to honestly believe the man has the annointing of an Apostle. I believe he is just putting on a good show.

Good analysis, James. James Robison wondered about persons being saved under his ministry before his transforming experience of deliverance of "a claw in my brain." After that deliverance his ministry and his family was transformed. He concluded that those persons were still genuinely saved.

Whether people are saved or not under anyone's given ministry does not validate that ministry. Truth will have her way despite some preaching. The Lord will have His own. Some people find Christ simply by reading a tract of scripture, or in a quiet hotel room glancing through a Gideon Bible. It does not make the hotel a gospel hall.

If we focus on the man, then we are in error. I would hope that throughout my ministry, people focused on my Lord and not what colour of tie I wore.

Cheers,

Jim

I don't know what :sleeping_2: means; you made an inquiry and I gave you my impression.

Lots of things can give an "awesome feeling," that does not mean they are of God. Cocaine or other such drugs comes to mind, but no one would endorse these things as a means to get closer to God.

What is the truth about accepting Jesus as their personal Savior through Benny Hinn?

What is the lie about accepting Jesus as their personal Savior through Benny Hinn?

from the benny hinn site. link: how to recieve Christ

number five: Pray to Receive Jesus Christ Into Your Life

wow. if that aint superstitious. i dont know what is.

the most dangerous heresy in north american christianity is that you can say a simple prayer and ask Jesus into your heart and that He will definetaly come in.

you dont get saved by a few words.

repent and believe. then continue to walk on the narrow path by continuing to repent and believe.

I suspect some have "got saved through" the Book of Mormon. <G>

I doubt it, because the Mormon God and the Mormon Jesus are false gods. The BOM only presents the false ones.

God can use anyone and anything to bring someone to Him. My father was saved watching Ernest Angley, who was the "Benny Hinn" before Benny Hinn.

Romans 10:8-10 (New International Version)
But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Problem is, most people don't believe so their confession isn't worth anything... But yea, for us who believe salvation is as simple as that.

As for Benny Hinn, well the answer is simple.

Philippians 1: 17-18
The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

Obviously Benny Hinn cares more about money then he does souls but as the holy Apostle said, it doesn't matter. Bottom line is simple. Jesus saves!

I've always been taught that salvation was a matter of God's initiation, and not our own. It isn't the messenger who saves us. If the message, which is that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ, is valid, so is the salvation. It isn't a matter of accepting right doctrine and avoiding heresy. If you hear it, are convicted, repent, and confess, you are saved, whether that happened in a Billy Graham crusade, or a Benny Hinn meeting, or at Heritage USA when Jim and Tammy Bakker were in charge, or in a field while you were fishing by the creek.

Phil. 1 does not apply to Benny Hinn. This passage is about wrong motives, not wrong doctrine. Benny Hinn has taught heresies and has also prophesied falsely. If anyone is saved when Benny Hinn preaches, it could be that seeds had been planted already from truth and the person was saved at that point despite Hinn's teachings, or they caught Hinn on a good day.

It's a well known form of hypnosis used by many others and not just christians.

No, unless we can be saved by the preachings of false prophets.
we are saved through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
the gospel is the gospel no matter who repeats it, the power is in the truth of Christ, no matter who speaks it.
That would mean if people were saved it would validate him as genuine, or that no one saved there was really saved at all.
I don't believe either.

I use Hypnosis Techniques to people feel better at my crusades.
Benny Hinn
http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/b/benny_hinn.html

In employing this technique, Hinn first sets the stage with mood music, leading the audience (as did Kuhlman) in a gentle rendering of
He touched me, oh, He touched me, And, oh, the joy that filled my soul! Something happened and now I know He touched me, and made me whole... Spraggett (1971, 17) says that with Kuhlman, as it was sung over and over, it became "a chant, an incantation, hypnotic in its effect," and the same is true of Hinn's approach.
snip
In short, they behave just as if "hypnotized." Although popularly believed to involve a mystical "trance" state, hypnosis is in fact just compliant behavior in response to suggestions (Baker 1990, 286). One professional hypnotist said of Hinn's performance: "This is something we do every day and Mr. Hinn is a real professional" (Thomas 2001).

Hinn's money
And he is a master fund raiser as well, so along with that devotion comes money — a lot of it. Though pastor Benny denies it, estimates of total ministry revenue exceed $100 million a year.
