   • Baptists Around the World by Albert W. Wardin (1995) - Wardin lists 46 groups with 28,156,504 members in 89,115 churches</font>
   • Religious Congregations and Membership in the United States: 2000, Glenmary (2002); 30 Baptist bodies participated in this survey conducted by the Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies. These 30 bodies had approximately 19-1/2 million members in about 62,000 churches</font>

   • BATW by Wardin (see above) lists 37,334,191 members in 157,240 churches</font>
   • The Baptist World Alliance had over 200 member bodies (associations, conventions, etc.) in A.D. 2000. The membership stats seems to be no longer available on their website</font>

   • BATW by Wardin lists 46 in the US in 1995</font>
   • BaptistHeritage.com lists 63 national bodies in the US</font>
   • Sub-groups Within the Baptist Denomination in the United States by R. L. Vaughn lists 55 bodies plus 13 semi-autonomous ethnic groups; I will paste it in another post</font>

Assigning a number to the amount of Baptist groups in the US is a somewhat subjective process, and the number will vary based on the types of criteria one may choose to use. For example, the Baptist Heritage website chooses to list the Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and the Old German Baptist Brethren. Many others do not consider these groups to be Baptists.
